Often times, it is easy to fall into a stigma of what healing should look like, and more often than not, we find ourselves in the midst of messy situations that make us doubt we have done any healing at all! The truth is, that is where true healing begins. Not on a yoga mat or hours of meditation and rituals, but during the midst of life's many challenging endeavors that serve to remind us we are always given the opportunity for growth.
Let's be honest, healing can look and feel messy. And 80% of the time, it probably is! But there are a myriad of ways that all contribute to healing though you may not be aware of it. Finding yourself untriggered in a situation you would normally be very reactive- that is healing. Letting your body rest and honoring its needs when your intuition tells you to do so - that is healing. Talking about your feelings out loud with a trusted friend in a safe space - that is healing.
Taking accountability for yourself, being proactive about your own healing journey, channeling the pain into creative endeavors, finding like-minded souls in community--these are all relatively non-nuanced, but profound ways of healing.
On this path of soul evolution and healing, give yourself grace, notice all the small and large ways you are taking steps forward. And when you feel the need to, let yourself rest and integrate these life lessons.
You are already doing the work by showing up for yourself.
